Review

"Exciting . . . credible . . . most provocative and compelling." (Library Journal)"Sitchin is a zealous investigator into man's origins . . . a dazzling performance." (Kirkus Reviews)"An extremely thought-provoking book that chronicles the fascinating history we humans have. . . . Sitchin shows us how vast and mysterious our human origins are, and what we might expect if and when the Anunnaki come back for a return visit." (UFO Magazine)"Sitchin's works are outstandingly different from all others that present this central theme. His linguistic skills in the languages of antiquity and his pursuit of the earliest available texts and artifacts make possible the wealth of photographs and line drawings appearing in his books from tablets, monuments, murals, pottery, and seals." (Rosemary Decker, historian and researcher)"In Sitchin's well referenced works, we witness how his towering intellect . . . allow him visionary access to ancient works in their original languages." (Bodhi Tree Bookstore, Winter 2002/Spring 2003)

From the Inside Flap

In this companion book to the Earth Chronicles series, Zecharia Sitchin takes the tale of Man and gods a major step farther. Having shown that humanity did not transit from hominids to Homo sapeins unaided and that the Anunnaki, in need of workers, jumped the gun on evolution through genetic engineering, Sitchin now tackles the delicate issue of human-divine contacts and probes the age-old question of the awkward relationship between humanity and its creator(s). The book encompasses biblical tales of Enoch, who was taken to the celestial abode; the theophany at Mount Sinai; Sumerian tales of Adapa, who was taken to another planet; and Egyptian pyramid texts of heavenly flights. Sitchin cites instances of oracular dreams and three-dimensional visions as some of the means whereby Man was given access to extraterrestrial secret knowledge. He furthermore suggests that the continued interaction between Anunnaki and Earthlings can explain today's UFO phenomena. Sitchin's research and fact-filled theories, illustrated with ancient artifacts and modern maps, chronicle a magnificent and inspiring journey through history, from the dawn of time into the new millennium. Zecharia Sitchin (1920-2010) was born in Russia and raised in Palestine, where he acquired a profound knowledge of modern and ancient Hebrew, other Semitic and European languages, the Old Testament, and the history and archaeology of the Near East. He is distinguished by his ability to translate and interpret ancient Sumerian and other ancient texts. A graduate of the University of London, he worked as a journalist and editor in Israel for many years before making his home in New York City.

If you have read any of The Earth Chronicles, then there is no need to purchase this book, unless you are looking to complete your collection. Not much (if any) new information is presented here, it contains basically excerpts from Sitchin's other works. To the beginner it may seem new and exciting, but I still wouldn't recommend this book even if you have never read any of the others, buy yourself a copy of the 12th Planet instead.

Sitchin always comes through with a way to make you think about things differently. Whether he is right or wrong about everything is irrelevant. He keeps the reader thinking about possibilities regarding biblical scriptures and ancient civilizations.

This contribution to Sitchin's Earth Chronicles series would stand on its own as one of his most interesting books. But Sitchin really buries the lead in this book. The last chapter is called an endpaper, and is the most stunning of chapter of any of his books.Without giving away the ending, Sitchin goes through the entire pantheon of ancient astronaut "gods" we've come to know through him and shows how the Yahway of the Old Testament isn't any of these figures. His unexpected conclusion is mind-boggling and really changes the meaning of all of his previous books. I don't know why this wasn't the thesis of one of his books, and is instead included as a footnote to this book.

Met him at a bookfair after I head read a few of his books. Thought about the many topics he covered and all of the research needed! Great work and very nice man.

I have read a lot of Sitchins books and this one is one of the best reads. It does a lot on comparisons to the writings in the Bible to other writings of other counties and beliefs. The section about the building of the arc and how he was able to get a pair of all animals on it is very interesting. Also of why Noah was selected to survive was interesting.

Bought this to add to my Sitchin collection of books. I love all his books, great read!
