Some of the answers are wrong!!, so don't rely solely on the answer key for grading. Concepts are described clearly, though dryly (not particularly engaging). Worked fine for an introduction to geometry for my 7th graders, reinforces algebra and problem-solving skills.
This is an excellent adjunct to the classroom book, providing explanations and examples that help clear up misunderstandings in my students. I used it with an honors level geometry student who had some difficulties, especially with proofs, and it helped her quite a lot. Her grade improved, and she was delighted. I liked that the information was well organized, the examples were thorough, and all problem answers were in the back.
I purchased this after my daughter started seeing a tutor for geometry. Normally a straight A student, she was really struggling with geometry. The title suggested getting a book, as her class doesn't use one. It's been very helpful, and should still be helpful when she's taking college courses. It's straight forward, glad we went with this book.
A great resource to get examples from as a teacher! It is also a good review book for students. I don't think this would work well as the sole method to learn Geometry. Khan Academy is better for that, but if you have or are taking a Geometry course this is a great support resource!
Love the layout of these books. Only docking a couple points because there are no solutions to the practice problems--just answers.
I always like Barron's work books. So informative and good practice problems. It was for my 8th grade child's self-study at home. Working perfectly.
Bought a bunch of these to review for an exam to become a math teacher. Very helpful.
I used this book to brush up on my Geometry, and boy, did it put me to work. What I liked about the book are the explanations of Geometric ideas, theorems, particularly the proofs. But this book will put you to work with all the problems that it has in it. Some sections are easier to finish than others, but once you get to the proofs, they'll take some time to complete.Overall, this book almost works like a text-book given the volume of material and explanations and practice problems. I highly recommend this book.
